Opinions about selling svo

I'm fixing to sell my SVO as some are aware and start looking for a nice syclone (10-13K dollar range) with around 50-60K miles on it.

Does anyone think I'll regret going from the SVO mustang to the Syclone?

I dont frankly.

The SVO has spent more time apart then on the road.

I think I've gotten to drive it 2000 miles in the last year, and those miles included the valve cover starting to leak from three of the four passenger side valve cover bolts (Come to find out that it was missing three of the little metal sleeves that are made into the gasket to keep the gasket from being over tightened).

Then there was the time I was about two hours from home when the pcv valve decided to quite working and pressurize the oil pan which popped the dipstick tube up and spewed oil all over the engine compartment (didn't need those 3 quarts I guess).

Sad thing is when the car runs it is fun, I'd almost keep it if I didn't think I could get a syclone that looks better, has more power, and is a truck (always been a truck guy). That wouldn't have as much or the same amount of downtime.

Sounds to me like you have already made your decision. I agree. Go syty.
Just be prepared to have to work on these too, as they are far from maintainence free.

I dont mind working on it.

Actually takes mind off of the everyday annoying things.

Like college, work, girlfriend.

Its just I hate having to keep taking it apart without any driving time. I've probably had the valve cover off five times in the last 50 miles that the car has been driven and thats probably been in the last two months.

And I still have to pull the valve cover again because it decided to leak around the OHC at the front of the engine.

But I'll get around to it tomorrow hopefully (should warm up.)

Only thing that you'll prob miss is the banging of the gears ... i miss slamming some gears every once in a while but other then that syclone all the way..

have a daily driver with a 5-speed in it and when I replace it I'll stick with a 5-speed for a daily driver.

But yes I've got to agree there is just something about slamming through the gears that is just awesome.

Go for the Syclone, there is no comparison! The Sy might just be more reliable too........go figure :roll:

I totally agree. I am diehard standard guy and this is the only vehicle I don't miss rowing the gears, the tranny shift firms. Its not just the 700r4 automatic either, I hate the 700 in my Corvette.

Couple of things you might want to consider:

• 1. The Sy will be much more difficult to work on than the SVO.
  2. Ford Motorsport valve cover gasket.

Aside from the shifting and cornering, the Sy will be much more fun to drive, but may only be just as reliable as the SVO. Why don't you sell your daily driver, get the Sy, and make the SVO your daily driver?

my daily driver is alot more reliable then the svo.

I also have a habit of driving around 5-600 miles a week on my daily driver so I prefer to keep a newer vehicle for a daily driver (Ford Ranger right now).
