So, let's say for example you have a Typhoon clone. It is not a 100% clone, but really, the only thing it doesn't have are the overhead mounted rear seatbelts because the clone was built using a 1987 donor.

Every other aspect of the clone is correct including all of the proper parts to make it appear as a 93(interior, grill paint, etc).

Mechanically, everything has about 28,000 miles( engine, trans, t-case, f/r diff, turbo) has new upgraded prop shaft and the overall condition of the vehicle is above average to excellent. Color is white/white. Paint is perfect, no rust. Cladding is in great shape, rims are very nice, etc.

Also to be considered is the advantage of it being built as an 87 as far as license and insurance goes.(prob wouldn't fly in California)

What would something like this be worth?

Guessing that a real one with around 30,000 miles would bring 12-15k, would a clone as described above be worth at lease half or more?

Just curious, as I have seen discussion here regarding salvage title value but nothing regarding clone value. I know it depends on how good of a clone it is, but let's just assume here that even a well versed Sy/Ty enthusiast would only discover it being a clone by checking the VIN or noticing the rear seatbelts and doorjam PAS sticker missing. it is that well cloned.

Depends. If you try to pass it off as a real truck, but its discovered, the buyer might turn and walk away. Come out and say its a clone, and show how things were done right, I would imagine that 5-6K isn't impossible. The market for these trucks is terrible right now, and if the real ones arent selling, a clone might not fare too well. If one were to build a clone, it should be for thier personal satisfaction, not really as an investment.

Of course, not trying to pass off as being real. Would never even try as the title says it is a 1987 s-10 Blazer. Just trying to gauge value with the knowledge that it is a clone, a damn good one I might add...

It really comes down to the value of the Ty specific stuff: drivetrain, wheels, and cladding The rest of the truck is irrelevant. And I think a 28k complete Ty drivetrain and all the rest would be worth 4000 - 6000.

BTW, if it's as good as you say it is, I'd love to see some pictures. And I can tell you that no matter how good it is, there are some SyTyers on here (not me) that could tell the difference with very little problem. They are THAT good.

not much, i'd say 3-4k to a syty'er maybe more to someone not so familiar with them

X2. Even in a good market a clone is a clone is a clone. A real nice one like you say is worth the going market rate of the SyTy parts plus $1,500 or so (give or take) for the Blazer it's self.

As far as Ca. goes..... may be able to do it with a shit load of time, trouble and paper work but I DOUBT IT :2cents:

if it is real clean like mint 7-9 if a good driver 3-6 bad shape good for parts i would not pay more then 2 probably 1-1500 but again with the prices the way they are now i dont see you getting more then 4-6 even perfect shape since you can find a clean ty for 6-8 now

unfortunately the cost of a real ty is not very expensive so the total worth of yours is not too high i would say somewhere in the neighborhood of 5-8k depending on the condition. now u could part the truck out for far more than that as long as u have the time and desire to do so. have fun and good luck

it could be worth about 85% of a comperable real ty, imo. but when it comes down to it, its all about what the market holds. if it was taken down to bare frame and detailed as it was put back together, every step of the way, it would be worth more to someone like me.
