I've been throw about six red tops... the one in the syclone has lasted three years then I let it dye by accident twice and that was it for it. So the new one in there has been running strong for about a year and half now. I have a battery disconnect on the truck so I turn it off if the truck will be sitting for a period time.
My mustang has killed the remaining four lol because it had a small draw on it and with these batteries if you let them fully discharge it kills them. That coupled with not using the right charger kills them quickly as well.
But they also had a bad batch of batteries at one time a year or so ago which they would replace without a problem. I don't remember the details but if your battery was in a certain date range of when this bad batch was made then they would replace it for you. You could try googling it to find out the details it's been awhile.
