Re: Pics from NATS-post them here

I wonder the same thing. At the track I had to raise the duty cycle on my boost controller from 40%(10psi@sea level) to 55%(9psi@bandi). It's took forever to get into boost, but once I hit it, 9psi down here felt the SAME at 9psi up there. So i dont know if he would be anyfaster in the backend at sea level. From the looks of Bully running, I bet he can shave a good bit in the first 330' with some changes. I did talk to him about his tires(m/t et street radials in the back, don't remember what the fronts were), they looked pretty worn so I wonder if he got newer tires if he could get his 60ft down a little. You can tell that the tires are slipping a little in the beginning.

I'm sure if he ran slicks all around, he would be in the low 9's. But he wants to run on street tires. I too agree that he is a little slow out of the hole, and his DR's are a little old. But man is is fast on the street. I'm not sure what his 60' time is, but he does say that it is faster on the streets. I'm guessing that is due to the truck slipping vs hooking up and almost bogging at the track. I'm sure if he spent a lot of time setting up up for and on the track, it would put down some better times. It is a truly amazing truck that he built.

Either way that truck is damn fast! Also, John was on crack thinking my 6'5" ass was gonna fit in there with his cage, I had to have a game plan just to get out of the thing!

Hey, you are the one who wanted to climb in. I'm surprised you ever got out. Any plans for a cage in your Sy? NHRA requires a hoop for quicker than 11.49...

The Ty will never get one but the Sy will. Will go for a 10pt good for 8.5s. I've been slowly working on getting the NHRA safety stuff on the truck.

I have a REAL kill switch to put on to now, hot lapping the truck down the street and having it shut off was getting annoying :rotf:

Yeah, that would be a little embarrassing to have to run out and turn your truck back on at every stoplight ;)

Who smuggled in the east coast beer? Illegal to transport alcohol across state lines, let alone several state lines. LOL

It's legal if you play the Smokey and the Bandit theme while you transport it.

Anybody got a video of Eviltwin trying to get out of John's truck? :rotf:

I think his traction limitations are more related to the leaf spring rear and torsion bar front as a 4 link would give him a lot more options for dialing things in. Slicks would help, but without being able to heat them up properly even they are limited in what they can do.

Robert has if figured out on his truck as he seems to consistently get out of the hole. It sure is fun to watch all these trucks push the envelope regardless of setups and I wish you guys the best of luck in running your V8 turbo's and pushing the envelope in Cali soon.
