Ok so I'm tryn to do the cheap and "EASY" jeep steering upgrade but my piece of shit sock shaft won't come out. I remove the lower 7/16 bolt and the top bolt. But it does not want to come off the top. Im tryn to pull down as much as I can but nothing. Does the sock shaft collaps in the middle. Please help. my patience is running low..

turn the steering wheel so the gap is towards the wheel put a prybar in the gap and open it a little

you cant spread it? use a large screwdriver, and a wrench as a handle on the screwdriver for leverage

told ya, I have a long straight prybar it woks perfect, use a wrench gripping the shaft and you have great leverage

Mine was on there tight too.Used a long screwdriver & pried at the gear. Wait until you drive it with the new shaft on it. The fighting & cussing will be worth it. It will drive like a whole diff truck. I wish I would have done this mod when I first got my truck. Drove mine for over 5 years with the stock one.

Damage report- A couple cut up hands, broken boost gauge tube,20 minutes late to work, not able to test drive!!!
