So i finally got a chance to race my buddy in his 2010 Shelby gt 500 with a claimed 610hp. he wouldnt race me from a stop claiming it was unfair (AWD) so we did a roll on at 30mph which also turned out to be unfair haha. Needless to say it was embarasssing for him as the Typhoon was too much for the little horsey , the best part is that i had another friend following us to witness the race. It was akward eating wings later as i wanted to be that guy bragging it up, but I didnt. however i know who to tell at work he can do this for me LOL.

its a 4.3 vortec heads all the goodies built 700r4 eagle rods wallbro pump 62mm turbo , alky control meth, air to air , 28 psi , tuned by Nolan.

Is your Ty running quicker then 11.9 like your sig says . I would think that a gt 500 with 610 hp even if thats at the crank would be faster than a high 11's truck? Does your friend know how to drive his car? Anyways nice kill.

thats my best time yes but i only got two passes out of the new tranny and rear diff was cooked. Sooooo then I listened to Nolan and had it rebuilt properly. I launched at 10 psi and spun for 60' and went left obviously diff was cooked. I know its quicker but was limited due to issues and have crappy low profile tires on. this year i have slicks a better tranny and diff and will launch at lower boost.

he has grip issues thats why he wouldnt race from a light plus we are at 2200 ' elevation I have yet to be impreesed with a mustang on street tires. even nitto nt05's, show me one that can hook up and it may be a race.

Good point and good kill. You guys should both hit the strip, I would like to see the outcome since you will be running better tires and see your new times.

No doubt. The last time that Brent was at the track, I was in the burnout box behind him when he launched and Ican say that it was the most violent Syty launch that I have seen. He doesn't need more power, just traction and the ability to not shock the drivetrain into oblivion.

You have a link to a thread telling me what you have done to your Ty? There's a Shelby around here that needs to see the tail lights of a V6 SUV... I'd like to know more about what you did so I can fine tune the direction I'm going with mine!

3.5 is impressive i would just like to see one do it is all. I believe the speedo may say 60 but they are only moving at 20mph

Funny but you know that tests aren't taken from the cars gauges.

I raced a terminator back in 05 with full exhaust, tune, the infamous "pulley" and DR's. My ty was pretty much stock and at the end of the 1/4 he only had me by a car. Still lost but didn't see the big deal about terminators.

That's why they run the race right? What it says on paper doesn't really matter when they're on the pavement.

I was thinking about this while getting ready for work this morning. How do they come up with that? My Ty does 0-60 in 3.8 and that's with AWD and no wheel spin with a 1.6 second 60'. How can a RWD 610hp car do better on street tires? Any chance they run those tests with tricks to the tires?
