Ok noone really seams to have an intake for the truck that is noticabily better then the stock intake. So here is my question. If the intake was moved down to the Lower IC area and placed right behind the IC would it get more air flow? Make the mouth the same size as the stock CCHE and place it directly behind it. Would that help cool the IC at all better? Would that make a better intake and allow more air flow?

Well, the air coming out of the lower exchanger is going to be hotter than ambient due to it picking up heat from the CCHE. Also, the exhaust crossover is right there, which will add even more heat to that area. Personally, I feel that you're not gonna get much better of a cool air design than what Gary, Morgan, etc.....have done with the fender modification. This obviously requires fab'ing and custom work, but you don't seem to be against that. :wink:

FWIW, McCoy's kit is nice for those that have relocated batteries as it puts the filter down below where the battery would be.

Intake ideas with minimal modifying are limited, but like BG said, pioneering thought is always welcomed.

i just put the 90 degree tube from mccoy on my truck.

took the pass fenderwell and made a cut 1 inch towards to the outside of the middle of the front 3 bolts. made the cut extend up about 6 inches.

Just enough to allow clearance for the od of the tube. then flatened the metal of the fenderwell that would extend downwards.

Since this was still not enough to keep water from coming off the tire and getting on the filter i had to add some thing extra.

took a large black plastic mudflap, squared it off, tucked the bottom corner behind the cladding. drilled 2 holes in the 2 upper corners. Used 2 plastic clip and screw inserts from a dodge dakota tailgate (these are oem from the dakotas, used to attach bedliner tailgate piece).

This makes for easy access to the filter and looks like it was oem on the syclone. It also leaves a very large area for airflow into the filter without adding a restiriction to that airflow.
