Ran at the track today

I have some time slips from the track today. (AWD Typhoon)

1st run - 1.833 60' 7.47 1/8th @ 95.54 11.618 @ 114.82

2nd run- 1.72 60' 7.264 1/8th @ 94.53 11.555 @ 108.17

3rd run - 1.693 60' 7.293 1/8th @ 95.13 11.459 @ 114.23

Yea I have some top end issues :) I need to fatten it up on the top...fell on it's face at 1/2 track.

The converter lockup isn't working at all, I think the solenoid went bad and that's killing me. I'm using the UR5 plugs but I think I need to move to the UR6. The converter is stalling WAY to high...my launch RPM was 4600 @ 13 lbs of boost and the no lockup issue with the really loose converter sucks. I was running 22 lbs of boost on all 3 runs....I've run up to 28 lbs on the dyno with a noticable increase in HP and TQ.

If anyone wants to see the videos or has any suggestions for me please let me know.

I would've thought you'd be in the 10s by now. Have you re-stalled your torque converter?

race or get outta the way
Wish i could figure this out.

my mph is 4 mph higher, but your et is 4/10's lower.

looking at the 1/8 I am 4mph slower!

hope the new tc 2800 gets me into these et's

yeah what is thge build?

MPH vs ET is a weird thing isn't it.

My build is the typical stock block stock crank motor. 4 bolt main caps, Eagle rods, TRW's, crower cam, comp lifters/rockers, lightly ported L35 heads w/ 2.02/1.60 valves, stock unported intake and TB. Stock ECM, 75# injectors Aeromotive 1000 pump, sumped stock tank, T72 turbo (have a T76 dual ball bearing but it's in for repair), KB headers, custom 3" DP with a muffler, custom front mount air/air IC, electric fans, built tranny with the 9/11 converter, stock everything else (even front prop shaft  ) Oh ya, 4 bald drag radials and cal-tracs.

If I can get this converter issue taken care of and start turning up the boost it should run a 10 no problem....then the T76

Its due to a whole bunch of stuff.

On my old build (11.0) I played with turning off the tcc altogether, truck would run 116-117, turn the tcc back on and it'd run 120-121. Especially considering the power he making he'll really twist up the converter in 3rd without lockup, plus he's more than likely out of the peak power band at the top.

Plus if you look at every single truck running Vortecs they have extremely good MPH for the ET. If you compare trucks with similar ET's and similar 60 foot times, normally the vortec truck will have better mph. Just go through the the fastest syty's and you'll see the trend.

How much power did it put down on the dyno?

It put down 542 peak HP and 536 Tq.

BUT, we had removed the TV cable to keep it from downshifting....come to find out later that killed the line pressure in the tranny. I'm sure that's at least where the torque went. That converter wasn't helping either...it would rev to 5500-5800 really quick then just sit there for about 4 seconds while the MPH came up. I need to dyno it again.

aktyguy, I'm assuming you're using vortecs, if so you need to change your plugs neither ur5 or 6's are the correct plugs, you need to use TR5, TR55 or TR6 these plugs are longer.

I wish I had Vortecs, I'm running the L35's. I think the UR5's are stock and the UR6's are one step colder.

oops, thought you had vortecs. BTW those are pretty goods #'s. As others have asked please post your build if you don't mind sharing.

I found the problem with the converter lockup. One of the wires from a pressure switch on the rear of the valvebody vibrated loose a little...enough to make it not work.

My UR6's should be here this morning. I'll try to put it back on the Dyno today or tomorrow WITH the TV cable hooked up and the converter locked.

wow, you got similar build as I do, but I got smaller turbo, only 60 trim...I'd opt for the bigger turbo. I also have smaller injectors, only 50#. I'd like to hear what you got after you dynoed it again. I definitely want to up the injectors and the turbo and better TC on my build. That'll be sweet to get 600hp on the wheels in the dyno.

Any new dyno results? I want to know what you end up with. It'd be nice if you could do it on an AWD dyno though.
