Removing all the fluid from Transmission

I changed the pan to a TCI, but before I put new fluid in it, is there a way to get the old fluid out of the torque convertor?
I must have searched for about 5 hours with nothing in return.
I remember seeing a picture of a pump you put on a drill to do it...
ANy help would be great

Good question. I've taken vehicles in with 60 to 100k miles and have a trans flush. Then change the filter. Like new.

The last time I flushed a trans after changing the trans filter, it was on a TH350.
I overfilled the box with dexron, disconnected the inlet to the cooler and attached a hose.

I started and ran it in short bursts untill clean oil came out. (top up as required). I had already had the radiator off and had cleaned the cooler, but I suppose you could always use the outlet from the cooler back to the trans at the cooler if you have suitable fittings, or use the return line back at the trans end.

I dont really know how thorough this method is compared to just the drill pump, but I suppose you could do this and use the drill pump method to see what comes out.

With the Ty, I will probably just remove the plugs and crank it over when I finally get it back together and disconnect the fuse to the fuel pump and the igniton fuses too.

Old fords I think it was had a drain plug on the torque converter.... Don't know why every converter doesn't have a drain..
