Round 2 local car show....

Well, the local car show was another success with over 250 vehicles for judging and 50+ on display. I had to settle for 3rd this year out of 17 in my class of "mild" mini trucks with 8 mods or less. Years ago when my GT was new I took 1st, last year 2nd and now 3rd... maybe I should hang it up? I keep getting worse.

Anyway, here are a couple pics. sorry they are from my cell phone, forgot the camera.

ok what came in 1st and 2nd???

some wacked out S-10
Didn't pay attention to 2nd, but 1st was a blue S-10 lowered with 18's. That's it besides minor things here and there, just a really clean truck.

One that didn't place is this. All I can say is... WHY???
I'n not exagerating, this dude had tubing on anything and everything that was round.

Damn that thing looks F'n GOOD. Wish my Ty looked half that good! Have you redone the truck or is it in that good of condition since new?

Well, the front bumper used to be gray, with a BIG hole in it...

Once I finished the repair, I primed it and sprayed with rattle can DupliColor Bumper Black... it's actually a good match for unpainted cladding.

I used to just keep it that way because it buffs to a nice finish (unbuffed in pic) but I wiped it down with ICE detailer at the show and was happy with the results.
I'll have to do a little extra work before painting my cladding to be sure the paint adheres properly but it's worth it to look good now. This was a temporary fix until I have it running the way I want. Once it's mechanically sound without issues and easily tunable then I'll be painting the cladding all the way around. I like the stock look but the claddingis just too much work to keep nice. When I'm at a show or meet I like to be able to detail it with 1-2 products. A bottle of ICE detailer and some tire shime and I'll be good to go.
