Running engine tie down and failed drivers mount

Just wanted to pick your brains regarding this.

I knowingly have a failed drivers side engine mount and have been reviewing the various threads regarding solids, poly's, tie downs etc.

Is there anyone on here running a failed mount but using a tie down strap to compensate against this?
As I understand even though the mount has failed it will still reduce vibration through the frame and the tie down will ensure the engine remains secure under heavy load and launching?

I suspect I will be told I'm being lazy and just get on with it but wanted your thoughts first as they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

It is a band-aid for the problem but it will work. Use a quality engine tie-down though (I have one if interested).

I think when u make one thing work much harder, ur asking for it to fail. Change the mount to a poly set. And put the tie down for added help.

But if u put solids u don't need the tie down. But I'm not a fan of solids.

My poly mounts melted to the frame/block and had to be burned with a torch to get them off. I was using the factory heat shields, and my headers are jet hot coated too.

Switched to the superior mounts from JTR and so far so good: JTR High Performance Engine Mounts
