Sell it or keep it? Maybe too 'racy' for me....

Hi, wanna thank everyone here for all the great info- I'm on different forums and this is a really close knit one, hope it always stays that way.

I bought this Ty knowing it was hopped up, but maybe its hopped up a little more than the wifey needs for running our son to kindergarten every day, so thinking about selling it.

Anyone have any ideas what I should ask on it? I'm open to suggestions.

Its got a McCoy engine with about 6000 miles, new radiator, new ECM, Tom @ Sportmachines is figuring out what the bigger turbo really is and rebuilding it, and besides the rust in the usual spots, its in pretty good shape. Big injectors, battery mounted in the back, will probably run in the 11's at the track.

This would be a good second car for someone who wants to beat everything in sight, or someone who wants to blast around in something super quick. I'd trade it for a more stock one, and will probably end up buying a more stock one eventually, but this one is not really what I think is a daily driver with the miles it has to go every day here for us. I mean, it screams down the road, fun, but maybe too much fun.

Why do I feel like you joined just to gauge pricing? Either way your biggest thing will be documenting what you claim to have but even still mods don't return a lot in a resale situation. Mileage is a factor and overall the truck looks OK. Just from a quick glance on the surface it looks like another $8500 to $10k truck but I didn't fine tooth comb the pics.

I would say 8500 at the very high end. The truck is crusty what you can see, there is bound to be more. Interior panels hacked up for speakers. Looks like 130k on the odometer, so its not a low mileage garage queen. The mods sound nice, but lots of proof would be required to add any value or peace of mind that it was done correctly. Just my opinion

Im gonna say that's about a 6k...8k truck max. Not gonna run any ware near 11's.

I don't see the problem. I taught my 12 yr old daughter how to drive in a fast truck.

She never mashed the pedal. :dunno:

What's the real story? Too rusty?

Disconnect the boost solenoid and problem solved..... But not the rust problem.

Unless you have an external WG and 600 ft/lbs on tap.

Babby driving it= barely touch gas and scared.

Daddy driving it= WOT is screaming scared babby .

As a previous owner and always shopping I would say that it has a lot of rust for an AZ and FLA truck. It looks beat and neglected. Just my opinion.

Ask whatever you want. You can always go lower on the price. Stick it up for $13,5000 and you might find someone stupid enough to pay it just because of what it is.

Don't post it for sale here on the site. And quite honestly, don't come here asking "What is my truck worth" because this forum is the biggest price killer on these trucks. It's going to get picked apart piece by piece and will be pegged a $6500-$8500 truck unless it's 110% immaculate, and even then, people will find things that are wrong with it.

We eat our own here...Whatever price you think it's worth, stick it up for sale for that and see what happens. But it will never sell for what you think it's worth on this site.

You guys are great. I'm not claiming its nice, in my opinion its OK. I didn't buy it to sell it. I'm not looking for a big score, and I sincerely appreciate you guys who gave me good points on price. I've sold plenty of stuff and know the start high tactics, but I just want to sell it, not play games.

My main problem with it is that its too small inside. I'm 6'5" and my wife is 6'1" and she fits OK, but I would need my legs amputated if I drove it a couple hundred miles. I also prefer something I can tow my Allison with, if I can help it. Was an impulse buy, she liked it, it felt good, I bought it. May still go looking for a more stock one for her.

I never took it to the track, I asked Tom from Sportmachines who has my PTE turbo what he thinks it was probably doing, I guessed 12's, he said faster- I replied "11's?" and he said probably. It can do 14's or high 10's for all I care. I've owned faster cars in my life.

I saw all the rust and expected the underside to be even worse, but the floors are solid, the only places it shows are where I took close ups of. Yes it has rust- a guy who takes 89 pix and shows all the rust is not exactly trying to hide anything. Puzzles me also about having any rust being from AZ, but it made a stop in PA, so thats probably where it came from.

So, the verdict is this, I'll probably put it out for 8500, unless someone wants to make a goofy trade- like a Harley or a set of outboards for my Magnum I'm building. If I sell it for 6500- even 6000, I'll be OK with that. And I'm well aware that the mods don't help it, I just think someone else is more suited for this type ride than I am.

I joined because I needed various answers to very typical problems that these have, and I got my answers. If I don't enjoy it as much as I thought I would, it doesn't mean thats why I joined. I bought the truck, joined, got answers, found Tom at Sportmachines through here, so no hidden agenda.
