My Typhoon is completely stock and i wanted to start to put some minor upgrades in it. i did a lot of searching on what to do and decided to maybe put in the ultimate chip for stock injectors. i dont have a whole lot of knowledge about the truck so my question is should i wait untill i know more about the truck or should i start to put some minor upgrades in it and learn from there?

Re: Start or wait?

This forum is great for learning about your truck, however, I learned quite a bit from a local get together we had last year. See if you can meet some locals for a wrenching session like the guys in florida are doing.

Wait, try to get your stock setup running the best you can and go from there. Run datamaster and learn about what everything in the program means, add a normal boost gauge (stock one sucks), replace the metal ic lines with rubber and override your ic pump so its always on. Also if you want to run the ultimate your going to need to upgrade your fuel pump, get a afpr, and a 3bar map sensor.

Also, if you are on a budget - wait to mod until something breaks and then replace it with the upgraded part.

If you're waiting for something to break so you could upgrade it, it'll last forever. Not just trucks, this goes for pretty much everything technical: TV, computer, camera, mobile phone etc. And when you're tired of waiting and buy the new stuff anyway, the new will break as soon as you get it home (or just after warranty period).

The key is a scan tool (also replace all your vacuum lines as well). Before any mods are done, a new fuel pump is required.
