Stock height trucks vs lowered

I think they look really good with a 2" drop in the rear. I went with lowering blocks but some prefer swapping springs. I think the front is just about right from the factory. I still have a slight rake even after lowering the rear. The front doesn't have much travel and bottoms out easily so i can't imagine it would serve anyone well to try lowering with the torsion bars. Of course with coil overs at all 4 corners and a 3 link in the rear on Sy's or 4 link on Ty's you'll have more adjustability and of course improved handling. I think my only plan for the future is to install traction bars on my stock leaf springs to keep axle wrap at bay since I'm only planning on some weekend drag racing and easy street cruising.

Mine is lowered. I think it looks way better than stock. Really old picture, but you get the idea. Mine is lowered with blocks in the back and lowered as far as the stock torsion bars will go in the front. It rides rougher than stock for sure, but you could do the same thing with coilovers and maintain a pretty compliant ride.

I have 1-1/2" blocks in the rear of the Ty, and adjusted the front for a 1/2" lower top-of-the-arch to the ground than the rear. I like the look, and it is an ok compromise between retaining some ride quality and still getting "The Look".

I did a 6,000 mile cross-country in this configuration with quite a bit of weight in the cargo area. I actually considered removing the blocks and raising the front back up for the trip because I knew I would need as much travel as possible. (I have previous experience with cross-country travel in lowered Tys, and bridge abutments at highway speed can knock your teeth out). I didn't , but by the time I got home I certainly wish I had.
