Just wondering which people like better and why. Yes both would be nice, but what are some of the advantages/disadvantages of each. Performance wise etc.

Ty's are a bit slower due to the extra weight. However, this does help the weight distribution a bit. They obviously have a lot more room inside, and are a bit more "plush" too, with the leather seats and stuff. The Sy bed is pretty much worthless due to the small payload capacity and the physics of acceleration, but I like my little trucks...

Sys are faster (stock) due to less weight,
and much more rare.

Tys are more plush, you can fit a big stereo in em if you want.

other than that they are alot alike. it actually took me about of week to decided i wanted a Ty over a Sy when i was looking. and it all come down to personal taste. neither is better.

Sy's much cooler in my book. Not as practical, but as far as I know, none of use bought these for practicality. Ty's are awesome but I have yet to see a Ty that looks as mean as a Sy with painted ZR1 rims. JMHO!!!! Ty's are great for the "holy shit, I got beat by that" factor, but I just don't think they quite have the presence of the Sy's. One day I will have both plus a GN in the garage though, eventually.

owning a sy or ty..

Pro - You own one.

Con - You own one.

if ya buy one, buy the manuals.

Adam - I was thinking the same thing.

Pro - They suck
Con - They suck

I'd rather have a Sy now since I have a Ty.

Sy - if you are over 6ft - you'll have "space' issues if you drive it for anymore than a couple hours. Just ask Lumpyclone as his 6'4" self was crammed into one for 18 hours :) Ty - you can just recline the seat - set the cruise and close your eyes

Why don't you buy me a set of painted ZR-1's so I can see if my Ty looks as mean as a Sy.

Seriously though, they are dead even IMO. That's why I'm going to join the list of owning a Sy and a Ty as soon as I can.

Thanks for the input. I already have a sy and really enjoy it. But I've got a guy that wants to trade me for his ty. I'm thinking the ty might be more practical for what I want to do.

I don't own either one, but if I had a choice I'd probably die before I chose one. I love my Blazer. Having a Ty would be all the better. But then there's the fact that a Sy is faster stock, so then you have to factor that in. I'd be stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Sy's are a little bit faster stock but not much and Ty's are A LOT more comfortable and practical (actually a turbocharged awd box is not practical at all but you know what i mean). If i could choose between a sy or ty in the same exact condition miles etc etc for the same price i would probably choose the typhoon. I like them both and would like to have them both but in the end it really just comes down to what you find the best deal on. another factor i just thought of is resale value. With the syclones being more rare than a typhoon they may hold their value better than a typhoon in the long run.

I personally like Sy's better than Ty's, but I think it is more of a personal preference. I would still like to a 92 with color (maybe red/gray)

Sy

Pros
-lighter & faster
-cargo space if need for bulky items

Cons
-less room but it doesn't bother me (I am 6'3")
-upright seats
-less interior storage
-only two seats (can be a pro if you don't want to drive everyone around)

Ty

Pro
-some additional amenities (leather)
-more interior room
-better balance weight for handling
-more leg rom seat/adjustability (I don't like the fat man seat on the 93, but I think I am in the miniority on that opinion)
-room for 4
-better stereo placement for speakers
-color choices (though still alot of black Ty's)

Cons
-slower
-Interior tend to have more squeaks
-costs more
