I believe it was the promo or the demo truck for GMC. They let editors and such drive it back in the day.

The Sy Challenge trucks were not actually Syclones, but Sonomas converted to Syclones. They were used to tour the country and to invite dealerships to come out to the track and introduce them to the Syclone and all its features and performance. They had matchup races between salesman and seasoned racers like Don the Snake.

As far as I know, GM owned 2. This one at BJ was one of the 2, the other still remains in MI at GMs storage warehouse. I gained info back at Nationals 2000 that GM would be auctioning one of the trucks due to the contract running out to keep them. Looks like it took 5 years for it to happen.

I dont know where the pics are offhand, but I do recall this truck had some minor damage to the front bumper and the regular dings and scratches.

For a piece of history you can drive and enjoy, not a bad price.

I drove it back in the day when dad and I went to the syclone challenge in atlanta. also drove a few of the ty's that were out there.
