Vaders Sy

My older brother told me that his GN is not as fast as his 911 Turbo. Despite his GN running 12.0's consistantly all last year, I disagreed but before we could race the two, he blew a head gasket a week ago. So, instead of the GN vs. the 911, my brother wanted to race my Syclone. After work on Saturday, we sorted it out on a country road. His Porsche has about 2500 miles on it and has the 6 speed. I had recently had the motor rebuilt which has 600 miles currently on it.
Here is the blow by blow. We stop just past where a little hill is so the road is flat and straight. I wave the Jeep that is behind me to go around us. These two guys are giving us the thumbs up when they pass us. A ways down the road is a railroad track so we agree to slow down about a little shy of a quarter mile where a road intersects the one we are on. We line up once the road is clear. The Sy on the left side of the road and the Porsche on the right. I put the Sy in drive, stomp on the brake, and begin to build some boost. I have 5 lbs on the boost gauge and I give my bro the thumbs up. I hear the Porsche rev, and he yells "Go." I side stepped the brake and pressed hard on the go pedal. For a moment I'm looking at the sky as the Syclone digs into the pavement and jumps ahead. I look at the speedometer and I just past 60 mph, I looked in the rear view to see the Porsche is 2.5 car lengths behind. I watch in the rear view to wait for the Porsche to run me down, I see the car jump as he shifts. I should have been looking in front of me but I was staring at the Porsche in the rearview that I looked ahead just in time to see me run over a big groundhog. For the record, I did try to miss it but I was going to fast and I was to close to avoid it. After I ran over the groundhog, I slowed down and got over into the lane. The 911 was still behind by at least 2 cars lengths.
Once we crossed over the railroad tracks the guys in the Jeep were waiting. The one guy leaned out of the Jeep and was pumping his arms as in he was excited that I was ahead of the Porsche. My brother said he left some tire marks when he took off. We went back and looked and he did but, so did I. One of our co workers was suppose to be a flagger and take a vid. He did not show up. Justin, my brother, was not satisfied with the outcome, so we'll do it again in a couple of weeks.
It was a rush.
