Toasted another ECM

I swear I go through an ECM every year. I have it in the glove box, is this not a realistic place for it? When I was swapping it out I noticed the burned part before I even disconnected the harness, its those two green capacitor looking things. The other side of the board didnt look good. All the coating was peeling up. Seems like its getting too hot.

I don't think the 'case' is grounded through the stock mounting method, even in the stock location. Plastic 'pegs' on top. The screw on the bottom into a J-nut, on the dash foam.

Re: Toasted another ECM

Ok, found out it wasnt my ECM. The truck left me and Austin stranded in a right lane in front of a busy mall at a light. We waited abotu 15 minutes for someone to come get us and when he got there I started using his volt meter to look for problems. When I checked the coil wire we had no power going out. I pulled them both off and it looked slighty corroted, put it back on and it fired right up. It had been "hiccuping" the whole way up to Denver that day. So as it turns out, the wire from the out harness was shorting out at the base. A rubber band was the temporary fix and sad to say, it is still there keeping the wire from moving and shorting out. Still thinking about grounding the ECM because of how it looks like the other one got though.
