The stiching on my OEM cover is starting to come apart, and I was wondering what options are out there. My hardware is in great shape. I would prefer to buy another OEM cover, and would be willing to pay a few hundred dollars if someone has one in excellent shape laying around.
I want a replacement that is as close to original as possible. My options are:
1) find just the vinyl cover and reuse my hardware, or
2) buy a whole new setup.
For the first option, is there any option out there that will fit the OEM hardware? I've found posts stating the Lund cover fits the OEM hardware, but I don't think that cover is available anymore. I'm pretty sure the Extang BlackMax vinyl is sold seperate from the hardware for ~$60.
If I have to buy a whole new setup, what brand/model most closely resembles the original cover? People seem to like the Extang BlackMax and the Tekstyle. I love the fit of the original cover. I like how the arches don't bow up excessively, and I like how the corners fit well and look clean. I've seen some aftermarket covers that you can spot a mile away as not original.
Any suggestions or pictures of people's trucks with some of these options?
