took my motor apart time last night

found some stuff in the oil pick up... pieces of the dipstick, what do people do witht the dipstick when you have splayed caps

that and i think i found the problem number one cylinder the rod is a little toasted if you look at the color

compared to all the others

but other then that everything looks fine. it has ok pistons in it and the cylinders look fine

im going to finish taking apart and get the bearing changed and maybe that one rod and put it back together.

it's never been a problem for over a dozen of my motors. just need a slight bend to get it all the way seted in the block.

so what do you think caused the bearing failure? too tight??
i wouldnt just put a new bearing in. make sure you find out why it failed first.
more than likely you are going to need to machine your crank or get a new one.

im not totally sure but im hoping for just a bad bearing. the motor was hard to turn by hand that might of also added to it. im going to replace the rod. the crank doesnt look bad at all so hopefully i wont need a crank..

as far as the dip stick ill just bend it and hope for the best.. thanks
