Truck won't build boost at launch.

If this isn't the correct place for this then please remove. I just replaced spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel pump, vacuum hoses, new electronic boost controller, and a forge wastegate with a 14 to 16 pound spring, turboetweak 3 bar chip. I sit at the line brakes to the floor and gas to the floor and it will not build boost. My aftermarket gauger and factory gauge read right at 0.0 no matter how long I hold the gas. Am I doing something wrong or is the wastegate acting up? Side note, I peaked at 13.1 pounds of boost before the install of the boost controller. Any help would be great.

Check your vacuum hoses, you might have reversed them.

ok I just put a Forge wg on the wifs ty and I had similer issues! the forge wg is not going to work properly if you have the wastegate solenoid hooked up! I bypassed the solenoid .
vac line from the turbo to the wastegate works great now. :tup:

So the forge wastegate won't work with any boost solenoid? If that's the case I'll throw the stock one back on and see if it makes a difference.

The hoses going from the wastegate to the solenoid back to the turbo?

Dont need a solenoid ! For the forge wg to work properly

No solenoid for a Forge, you change psi with springs and preload. Although I don't understand why it would not make boost, if anything it should over boost.

Are you sure you installed the Forge correct. If you had it wrong and the puck wasn't fully closed it wouldn't build boost.

That may be the problem because I bought the truck with the forge already in it. The previous owner did the install.

Knock won't allow you to build boost.

What would cause it to knock without any boost? Would it be false knock or something a little more serious on the inside of the motor?

Try adjusting the wastegate first, if that doesn't work, get a log to see if you are getting knock. There are tons of videos on YouTube on how to adjust the wastegate.

The instructions for the Forge are pretty simple, just hook the line from it to the turbo nipple. Then set it so that it is 1 1/2 turn past fully closed on the wastegate lever. Test it, see where the boost is and if you need more give it and 1/2 turn in and out if it is too much until where you want. Remember that the rod will turn inside the actuator so keep an eye on that.

That may be the problem because I bought the truck with the forge already in it. The previous owner did the install.

Ok im confused thought you said you just installed the forge wg! Now you said its been on since you bought it so its not that. What have you changed recently? If it was the vac lines check for leeks! Also you said you changed the plugs what did they look like ? What gap did you put on them ? And wires make sure they are seated and not grounding out. And how does it itle? If it ran good before , it must be something you have changed recently!
