Can anyone help?? I am wondering what numbers to expect from my new build. Current Build Sheet: Vortec heads (3 angle valve job, basically stock) modded intake by RPM, 1.5 roller tip rockers, Edelbrock 3714 cam and lifters, stock turbo, cone filter, NGK UR5 spark plugs, custom cut MSD wires, Ultimate chip calibrated by JWaller, AFPR, 3-bar map, Jabsco IC pump, rerouted IC lines thru fender, Walbro 255 fuel pump, stock rebuilt trans,160 thermostat.

Re: Trying to get into 12s

it will all be in the tune and if your tranny survives. the stock turbo will easily do 12's.

Re: Trying to get into 12s

Just remember, getting into the 12's isnt too hard considering these are 13.1 second STOCK vehicles ;) ---

I didn't notice a high stall converter. Your probably gonna need one of those. However, with a good tune u should still be able to hit a 12. A bigger turbo and injectors should also be at the top of your list.

Re: Trying to get into 12s

no need for a higher stall and the stock injecots have gone 11s w/ meth support. some good fuel and extra boost should put you there if everything is good, tune up and stuffs

Re: Trying to get into 12s

These guys are right. It ALL depends on how much boost you run, what octane fuel you use, and how good your tune is. Way more so than the mods you have, believe it or not!! This site has all the information you need, if you are willing to invest the time to read up and search for it..

I bought a stock Syclone that turned 14.4's, and turned it into 13.0's with no parts, and then 12.2s with only a few hundred dollars of parts.

With the parts you have, if it doesn't run 12s on pump gas and 15 PSI, there's something wrong.

Re: Trying to get into 12s

you can do it yourself, its easy and youll need the practice working on your truck, they seem to need it often! but its rewarding when they are right! may i recomend the following to you... new cap and rotor w/ coppor terminals. 8mm silicon plug wires, ngk ur5 stock # 2771 spark plugs gap @ .30, fuel filter, remove cat, and just make sure the intercooler pump is working. learn to launch it hard and i would bet 12.50s or better along with the mods you have now!!!

Re: Trying to get into 12s

i'd say with his waller chip and some 110 he's good to go. if he's gonna loose his cat he needs to port his wastegate or he won't have any boost control to swpeak of

I think you need to run NGK TR sparkplugs on vortec heads, the UR is for stock heads.

I only had boost spike on the shift when I removed the cat,had a few degrees of knock retard at those shift points.
I would not recommend running it in 4th gear & punch it having it drop down to 2nd gear or so,then you might get too much of a spike.
Not a big problem for me with a stock non ported turbo.
At the time I was running 18-19 PSi of boost pressure & would boost spike to 20-21 PSI then go right back down to the 18-19 psi (after the shift) range w/my Pitbull chip

What did you change between the 14.4 and the 13 ets

Re: Trying to get into 12s

X2 or TR plugs... UR5 are for stock heads. You need TR5 or TR6 for vortecs. Other than that you should be into the 12s with a proper tune
