Turn signal flasher & LED's

Hi Guys and Girls;

I still suffer a problem with my LED lighting... I don't want to add a ballast to my front turn signal and side marker LED's so I need a thermal flasher (load independent) without lamp outage control. Not a big deal you may think since you'll get these things in almost any parts store.
Nope, what you get are round ones, sure 3 prong like the stock Sy Ty one located underneath the dash between the brake release and the steering column BUT the stock one is square and a round one wont fit without braking off some plastic parts.
So my question if somebody in this forum may know where to get a fitting one for our trucks. If you have one I'll buy it.

I made a set of LED front corner and marker lights for the Ty, I was just gonna use an electronic flasher out of a Toyota or something, but never got around to it.

Can you confirm that the Toyota flasher fits (right prongs etc.)?
I see in your sig. that you have one, so would be easier for you to check - LOL

I bought my rear 1157 style LED's (red) and the front ones (amber) at netdisty, top qual. and found a four LED side marker (194 style) at auto zone... bright and suitable, better than the one LED styles you may find in the web.
I also converted my VDO instrument back-lights in the pillar pod to blue (single blue LED 194 style) which is a little bit dark, so I am looking for 4 LED containing 194 style filaments in blue as well. The singles work great as shifter column illumination but they are too dark in the gauges.

ill take a look tomorrow if its not raining. otherwise ill get back to you on thursday. I was told the electronic ones in many foreign cars arent the bi-metal load type, so it was a cheap and easy fix, unfortunately I never got to try it, either way, ill pull the flasher, see what it looks like, and let ya know.

I'm still looking for an electronic flasher for mine. I custom made full LED panels to go behind the stock rear lenses. Completely cut out the reflector. I found an electronic flasher for the hazards (round with three prongs), but still haven't found one for the blinkers (square with 2 prongs).

"How to" manual?
Required tools beside cold beer (Dremel perhaps)?
I had the discussion with a guy in Switzerland, he wanted to go with the Cadillac fins (I don't like this mod. at all) and I mentioned the SeVille tail-lights which look like a fin as long as you don't brake ... and these are LED's

There are 70 LED's per side. 50 for the stop lights and 20 for the tail lights. If I were doing today, I'd do it differently.

I'd do it differently these days. Much brighter LED's and fewer of them. This looks like a great LED for stop lights:

And they even have LED's bright enough for head lights. That's right, an array of 5-10 LED's are bright enough for headlights. Look at this:

I believe there are proto's of the above headlight LED's being designed for 2007 cars.

im gonna go check out that flasher in a bit, sorry ive been a slacker, i got so much stuff going on, i wanna rip my head off and go bowling with it. :eek:

i hope this helps, im sure it could be used somehow, might not hurt to try, i mean how much can a flasher cost?
