Typhoon rear window

My ty was broken into last night. I'm calling around for prices on a replacement rear window and I'm wondering if anyone knows an approximate price. Just want to make sure I'm not getting screwed. Also should I just replace the hinges or anything else while i'm at it? Thanks

1) make sure its a PPG glass.
2) make sure above is true by locating the PPG symbol on the glass. Glass companies like to use sub-par glass to save a few bucks.

3) RPO code for the correct window is AA3. AA3 - Deep tint glass (rear side windows only).

Pricing is pretty much static from what I have found. Expect to pay in the ballpark of $300.

Visit www.sytyauthority.net for part numbers for the hinges, etc. If someone is picking up the tab, now would be a great time to upgrade those worn out parts.

uh humm, sorry merk but i dont mean to step on your toes, again, but the galss with the lines for defrost and the hole etc. for the wiper, costs around 500 dollars, without those mentioned, meaning no lines or hole for wiper...around 300!

Go ahead. Step away.

But, see what happens when you look up Part # 15647867. GM List: 303.05

If your goal IS to attempt to step on my toes, I'm sure I could critique your spelling/grammar.

But, we are friends here and don't step on toes ;-)

Later!

Sorry about your Ty, that does suck. Theives are so lazy, the easier way and cleaner way is to pull the rear lock out of the tailgate and pop the window open. I bought a Blazer long ago from an auction and that's how it got stolen and the steering column was broke. I never had to have a key to drive it.

Well I picked up a new PPG rear glass today. It set me back $237 with tax included in the price. Now I am about to hunt down hinges, etc.

And speaking of the thieves, they actually did attempt to break the rear lock out first. Apparently, after the little handle on the lock snaped off, they just opted for the window. Needless to say, I was not happy with the results, including all the rain that got into the truck.

I paid about $350 for tinted glass with the wiper hole. Not PPG as far as I can tell, but I don't care. Works just fine.

I did not replace the hinges, but beware of over tightening them! I stripped one of the hinges REALLY easily - like less than 20 pounds of torque. :(

Also, get someone to help you. I tried to do it myself and just about dropped the glass. I finally asked someone who was walking by to give me a hand. :)
