Ult. V9 doesn't work well w/ 3Bar

I swaped in my ultimate today and it really gave my truck a nice boost. After wondering why it works good now and not before, I remember I didn't swap in the 3Bar MAP sensor. I have tried two different 3Bar sensors and both made the truck run poorly, (wouldn't idle, would throw a "running rich" code, I think it was 43) with or without the ultimate installed.

Is it safe to run the ultimate on low boost levels/timing with the 2Bar sensor? Also, anyone have an idea why it runs bad w/ the 3Bar?

Something isnt right if a 3bar chip runs better on a 2 bar. A lot of fuel and timing calculations are based on the map readings, and it should run like poop. Are you sure you dont have them mixed up?

Yea, I got a brand new MSD 3Bar chip directly from Summit. I also tried the 3Bar that the truck came with (uninstalled)

Something's goofy here. *NO* 3 bar calibration will work well with a 2 bar calibration, or vice versa.

What does the label on the eprom on your Ultimate read?

is has:

C3B16V, then it has something blacked out with a "11" below it.

Should the white numbers on the stock chip be facing up or down when connected to the ultimate? I tried it with them facing down and the truck ran poorly. With them facing up, it runs good.

Anyone know what this Ultimate is programed for? It seems that w/ this chip and the 2 bar sensor, it pulles pretty good between 5-10 PSI at half throttle, then it will sputter real bad for a second, like a bad backfire, then its fine. At first I though it was just the PCV vac line blowing off, but I hose clamped it and it did it again tonight, and no vac lines were off.

I will have a DM file tomorrow, hopefully I can finally figure out whats wrong w/ my Ty.

Anyone know what version/programming is on this ultimate?

Thanks
