I finally got the DM hooked up, and ran an initial check. At idle only, and my knock 16, knock 8 are off the charts...

what is the difference between knock 8 and knock 16, i only have knock counts. does it keep counting knock?

Its not the knock count you need to worry about, it's the spark retard, IIRC.

well if you get knockcount on idle aan keep counting your chip might be not seated correctly as well

In old versions of DataMaster, the knock count was useful. In all recent versions it's pretty meaningless. Check out this reference I wrote:
