Used 20G turbo

boosteds10

Finally Fixed
Picked this up off a member here recently with intentions of using it on my s10 build but plans change and the house comes first. Below was what I was told,

stock turbo w/ a 20g compressor and the exhaust inlet ported from the 8cm\2 to @ 11cm\2...approx 5,000 miles

I've only taken it out of the shipping box to inspect and it seems to have a small amount of side to side shaft play, does not contact housing, no in and out play.

Picked it up for $400 shipped and looking for $375 shipped. Have some pics below but if you need more of anything specific just ask and I will snap them for you.

if it's a stock exhaust housing which it looks like it would bolt right up but like anything else a tune would benefit you and get the most out of your combo but wouldn't be needed to drive the truck iwth the turbo but i'd data log it a bunch before relaxing because it'll probably require more fuel.

If I didn't already have a different turbo i'd purchase it for a simple quick swap for more power

Depends what you want to do with it but basically if you do nothing it will be slower with this turbo.

If you put in a new torque converter (2800rpm and up) and upgrade the injectors and tune it, you'll have a faster truck.

Search for more info.

Re: Used 20G turbo

And tuning it are you guys talking about tuner pro or like take it to a performance shop and get it professionally done there? Also if I upgrade the injectors and tune it but not upgrade the torque converter will it still make more power?( because I still want it to be a nice driver and not slam me in the seat at every red light)

Re: Used 20G turbo

I think you will see some decent gains from this turbo. This turbo has the stock exhaust housing so you will not need to upgrade your torque converter. I am selling my 20g turbo, but it has the 14cm exhaust housing. If you put mine on your truck with a stock converter, your truck would have a ton of lag adn be slow! The turbo on this thread is the one you need, the 20g with the stock exhaust housing, not mine. Code 59, 3 bar map, ostrich, G1 or G3 adapter ( forget which is best), ALDL cable, AFPR, and some data runs and your on the way;) You could take it to a good shop and have them tune it, but for 1/2 the cost and some research, you can tune your own chips with tuner pro.

Also, do a search on the board for a 20g with the stock exhaust housing. I recall a lot of guys had used a 20g with a stock exhaust housing and had decent gains from it in addtion with a good tune.

With the smaller exhaust housing you won't need a converter upgrade so it's not going to be slower in that respect but it's going to be pushing allot more air requiring more fuel resulting in needing a tune to obtain best results for your money.
