I wasn't around here for a while, and just went back and read the big PEP thread... The Vendor Opinions thread is a great start. However, I think a whole section would be better.
I'm thinking one thread per vendor. If there's not a thread for the vendor you want to report on, you start a new one. This isn't designed to be a flamefest or a "You should use Vendor A!" area. Just an organized place where we can keep an ongoing tally of how each vendor is doing. You could easily see from the old posts that ABC Parts had some crappy customer service two years ago, but they always had the right part at a great price. About a year ago, their customer service suddenly got a lot better. Now they have the service to match their great selection and parts.
We could also have personal reports. Either one big "Personal" thread, or we could give each person their own thread just like a vendor. My thinking is that most personal stuff is relatively minor. "Joe Blow shipped the item out quickly, and it was exactly as he described." sort of comments.
I'm picturing something like www.resellerratings.com though we wouldn't actually have the rating number. Just an ongoing list of customer comments for each vendor.
