Vendor Reference Bowtie Overdrives

I'm looking to get a transmission rebuilt on a budget. I've been looking at having Bowtie Overdrives rebuild it. I'm not very knowledgeable about transmissions so I'm asking for the board's help. The build I'm looking is a stage 3. http://www.700r4.com/trans/level3.html
is the information on the build. They quoted me 1559.00 shipped with a heavy duty 2400 rpm stall. Now I'm looking for a reliable build for a stock truck that may recieve a PTE-52ish upgrade and possibly internals down the road. What do you think?

find someone closer to you. Not knocking them or anything, but thats an aweful long ways to ship an average tranny. Plus a 2400 stall converter with a 52 series turbo will spool like crap.

What type of stall do you suggest? I want to make sure it will work with a stock setup as well if I do modify the truck. So you think like a 9/11 3k T/C will work? Also where should I purchase this type of convertor? I thought this level 3 transmission was a pretty heavy duty build, not an average build. B/O is paying for shipping one way, so shipping charges are not that bad. The only other area trans shop that anyone recommended was Roadmaster in Chicago and they wanted $2200 for their Dr. Evil and that is without shipping or a T/C.

well you get what you pay for, and parts alone on a really stout 700 will be more then their quote for it fully assembled, shipped, including a TC.

There are a couple of us selling converters all of which seem to have quiet a few happy customers and some without so much luck. I would suggest a 2800 stall if you want it to work with stock and a slightly larger turbo.

If roadmaster is close to you, they seem to have a good reputation and have done some work on a few fast sytys. Its best to find a shop that can build, install, tune/adjust your transmission, so if anything goes wrong it limits the finger pointing.
