Vibration w/ TCC lockup +load

When I got on the freeway today, the Ty started to shake rather significantly when I would try to accelerate from cruising speed (55 or so). Upon further testing, it will shake under moderate load in 3rd or 4th with the converter locked up (I have a TCC lockup switch). It does not seem to shake under hard, low speed acceleration or during steady freeway cruising. The converter is a TCI Streetfighter with about 500 miles on it. Do I need a new torque converter already?

hmmmmmm when you replaced the converter, did you take the check ball out of the end of thr input shaft, that restricts flow to the tcc??

I had a shop do all of the transmission work, so I do not know whether or not the check ball was removed. How does this check ball affect transmission operation?

when you take it out it allows qiucker apply, and more holding power, of the tcc
