Voltage Problems

My sy has a votage problem! , runs perfect until idle then voltage drops and idles terrible, lights dim, foglights even go off. I have underdrive pully's on new motor with high output alt. I have redone all the grounds, but maybe missed some or dont have them all attached. But the new grounds have not improved my voltage at idle, I have a bigger battery even than stock for those cold cranking apms here in IL.

any help or suggestions will be appreciated and thanks in advance for you help/.

might have to change the pulley on the alt to compensate for the underdrives,I did

does the voltage return to normal when you bring the RPM's up? what does the alt output show with a multimeter?

Did you have the problem before the underdrive pulleys?

could be a faulty regulator. happend to me. use a multi meter and check voltage drop.

It comes up with rpm's, It didnt happen before the underdrive pully's ,. but I also did a rebuild on the motor in there...so I dont know if thats it or not..

If you rebuilt your motor and your camshaft has too little LSA, it will have an effect on your voltage. Remove the alt, put the stock pulley on the alt. and have its output checked at the local parts store. If the output is good, then you will have to change your cam.
