Another potential trick...

Print off a GMC motorsports logo on a laser printer.
Cut the letters out with an exacto to make a stencil.

Lay that over the top of your black, and paint a cast aluminum color.

Cheap, and if done right, looks good too.

I think I will give that a shot.

i powder coated mine candy red and polished the cover and had that done as well looked good IMO gmc letters on yours needed to dry longer before you taped them off as you can see the tape marks :2cents:

Another option is to leave the IC black and polish the IC cover to a mirror finish. Keeps the factory look and is easy to do..

Be sure not to do it upside down this time. It should match same orientation of "syclone 4.3 turbo" on the plenum.

Don't Paint it all black..... Buy A GMC Decal..... Use It Instead Of The Tape As A Stencil... Voiala! Perfection... I'll sell you one if you want *hint hint* I think if there's not enough heat, you can just leave the decal on there and just use that..... but I think the painted look would be badass.... just peel the decal off when ur done spraying the black.... :tup:

Here is what I ended up with guys. I also ordered up some t-bolt clamps. I was sick of the other clamps cutting through the hose couplers because I tighten them down so hard.

I haven't discovered a clear coat that doesn't look hazy after it's applied. I have heard good things about Zoop Seal. But it costs $100 and it still has to be stripped and reapplied at some point. It's not too bad to maintain since it only takes about an hour to clean everything up with metal polish from time to time.

I like the look of the all black in there in looks nice. If anything I would get a red GMC sticker if you want it and apply it, just not to big thats all. But I like it better than the original plan.

Yeah I think it had something to do with it. I have another pipe that an RFL is going on and I dont think Im going to paint that. It holds better without the paint.
