What fuel pump should I use?

I own a 93 ty that recently stop running. I drove it to work and it ran fine. When I got ready to leave, it would turn over but not start! I did a spark test, it sparked like the 4th of july. I sprayed some starter fluid in intake, it ran for 3 seconds and cut-off.

I'm now assuming it is the fuel pump or filter or both. I am running nearly stock except for stg 10-1 chip, and 3" exaust. When time and $$ permits itself, I plan to upgrade the i.c. pump, plumbing and CCHE.

Should I put a stock type pump back in or one that will give a little more fuel pressure. If I do this, without upsizing the injectors and map sensor, will I damage anything? What pump, part no. and size should I run with? Any advise would be helpful at this point!

Isn't an upgraded pump a prerequisite for one of those chips?

Check out the Racetronix harness while you're doing it...

Never assume anything. Is the pump running? Is the fuse blown? Have you even put a fuel pressure gauge on the fuel rail? Could be a bad relay as well. Leave the starting fluid to the diesels.

Use the high pressure Walbro pump. It is the best option for your truck period.

Re: What fuel pump should I use

Which of the relays under the hood should I check, and what is the best way to test the relay in question? I have already checked the fuses, and they are fine. Also, Is there anything else that would make the fuel pump not run? Forgive me if my questions are somewhat overly simplistic, I'm just trying to make some sense of my dilemma! Thank you all,
