the stock ecm code is referred to as code $58. as stated above, a group of great guys created code$59 which makes it easier to tune and released it without profit for the benefit of the group.

Cliff notes version:
We took the stock ECM software and replaced it with Folger's crystals. Let's see if they notice.
Generally, though, we added a bunch of functionality to the stock ECM that it never did before, documented the new features, created Tunerpro definitions so that it could be easily tuned, and released it free of charge. There are also a number of base "chips" that folks can download, and start tuning from there. All free.... with a slight catch. Anyone using it must post their tuned chip back up to where they got it from, so the next guy has a better starting point.
The goal is to have a pretty complete library of "chips" that will work with various combinations. We're also adding new functions all the time (like a knock gauge that displays real ECM knock retard), so there will be lots of new stuff to try.

Absolutly.... Awsome...
Think of it as a FAST system wraped up in a stock ecm box.
I got ALL the goodies to burn chips.. tune on the fly ect from www.moates.net
and had under 500.00 in the package! That's with 10 blank chips,Autoprom,Two G2 adaptors, ect ect.
I'm not going to need a FAST system for the truck any time soon!
