What's a good tranny pan???

I'm looking for a new tranny pan. Whoever pulled the tranny out last jacked up on the nice Derale cooling pan, denting the bottom pretty good. Now the drain plug keeps leaking, even when I put a new copper or plastic gasket. I want a performance pan. Any suggestions???

:2cents:I have a Derale. Had to dimple the bolt holes to keep it from leaking between the holes and futz with the drain as well. I think if I were to replace it I'd go with a cast pan. :2cents: I wonder if the Derale does much for cooling anyway. I have a big cooler plumbed into the cooler lines which I'm sure does a much better job.:2cents:

You said "performance pan". But I've run over a cumulative million miles in my personal vehichles with stock pans. They don't leak, have clearance issues, or cost very much. Even in heavy towing usage, stock pans have worked fine for me.

I have a TCI cast aluminum pan and like it. I dropped my pan last night and it was great to finally have a drain plug for once. It has more oil capacity and I am told it helps with structural integrity of the case.

I also have the TCI pan and am satisfied. If you want the added benefit of a sturdy pan with a drain plug, extra capacity, and cooling fins get the TCI pan. The stock works fine IMO but needs a drain plug.

4X. Have had a TCI for ten years with no problems:

"Cast TCI transmission pan, holds two additional quarts. Filter is supported by the four pins cast in the bottom of the pan. Front of pan *may* have to be trimmed to clear TC inspection plate (mine did)."

Here you go. Best pans hands down. You get get them in three different sizes. The deep ones work well on our trucks and tuck up nicely and holds 4 more quarts than stock.

They are 15 minutes from my house and I have toured their shop. Very nice stuff indeed.

I have one i might be willing to sell in great shape,think it is a derale or tci,holds extra 2 quarts maybe?has the steps for the filter to hold it and the big fins.

I have the Summit brand pan, and it's really nice. Very thick casting, and decent parts with it. ~130$.
