Which tires are best on 18" rims

The sticky post says "245/40R18 - 275/35 R18".

What's the difference and which is better?

i think you are looking at a fornt-rear combo. You have to be carefull how big of a size difference you put in the front to the rear. The 245/40/18 is not as wide as the 275/35/18 but the 245/40/18 is taller than the 275/35/18. They size the tire as following; the first number is how wide it is, then the next number is like a ratio of how tall the tire is compared to the width, and the last number is the rim size.

Oh I didn't realize that was a front/rear combo. I figured you could go either way a set of 245s or a set of 275s. I just didn't know the difference between the two and which is better all around. The 245s are listed much cheaper as a whole.
