Wiring Harness ID: Help needed

Hi, I need some help ID'ing an engine wiring harness. I bought it from s-clone03. His ad says it came from a Typhoon. It is definitely a SyTy harness, but does not match the one I just pulled from my '92 Typhoon. So, what is it? '93 Typhoon, or Syclone?

Here you see the fuse box connector ends compared. On the left is the unknown harness. '92 Ty on the right (loom cover peeled back so I can trace wires seen in later pics).

The unknown has a large connector with a heavy guage black wire and light guage white wire which is absent on mine. Those wires on mine appear to go straight thru to the firewall connector:

Unknown also has a small 2 pin connector, purple and black wire, absent on my harness. In my truck, this connector comes from the other portton of the firewall connector :

Lastly (this is as far as I've gotten in comparing) there is a medium size 3-pin (wht, ppl, blk/wht) connector on my Ty harness which is missing from the unknown harness.

The easy clue should be the large (the sucker is 3 inches across!) 5-position connector with the black/white wires.

Anyone have a '93 TY or Syclone harness for comparison? Thanks!

Look at the connector for the A/C compressor.

Sy on the left, Ty on the right.

TYRODD

My ass. Look at it.

The second connector looks like a coolant sensor connection:dunno:

1st connector (2nd pic) remains unknown. 2nd connector (3rd pic) is identical to my rear window washer connector (plug and wire colors), but is coming from the wrong harness. The third connector (4th pic) is ABS.

Update, I talked to S-clone 03. Seems it definitely came off a Ty engine, but had apparently been hacked before he bought it. He had no idea. However, he's a stand up guy, and is making the deal right. No worries. AC connector say Typhoon. Good way to tell.

I don't have a Ty, so others members will have to confirm or deny my assumptions on year.

Your pics 2 & 4 are connectors (C161) for the ABS circuit. Unless there where changes during the same production year, pic #2 (large, 5-terminal C161) is from a '93 Ty and pic #4 (small, 3-terminal C161) is from a '92 Ty.

Borrowing your pic, the purple wire on your spare harness is cut. The black wire is at terminal E, the white wire at terminal C and the purple wire at terminal B. Terminals A & D are empty. On the '92 harness, the wires are white, purple and black/white.

Both C161s eventually lead here, connector C160. I believe the '93 has 7 wires and the '92 has 6 wires. Again, please confirm.

BTW, this is what it is supposed to look like at the firewall.

Re: Wiring Harness ID: Help needed

Thanks for the analysis. BTW, the small, 2-wire connector in your photo, directly below the letters ELC is identical to the mystery 2-wire connector in my photo #3. In your photo, it is C154, going to the windshield washer pump (Pink/Blk). Wierdly, on this 'hacked' '93 Typhoon harness, it is coming out of the engine wiring harness. I have no idea what it would have been used for.
