Wrecked Ty

So my dad and I go to look at this typhoon at a used car lot I saw a few weeks back. I wanted to get the vin# so someone might be able to tell me something about this truck. So after I whipe the pollen of the window I standing there saying WTF there is not a vin# on this thing. To make things even better the cladding behind the rear passenger tire has been stollen. The front windshield has been replaced, the front bumper is not lined up propperly or bent. Since there is no vin# on it I decide to look to see if it has a transfer case and all that stuff, as I'm getting up I glance over and again say WTF, the heat exchanger is bent to hell. The last time I was there it had a peice of paper with the price on it ($10,500) which has been removed. I think this is because of the cladding being stolen. Maybe he will lower the price. I think it better come down a lot now that I have seen the problems I have.

If you have any imput feel free to let me know, and if you know about a rebuilt 92 TY Gry/Blk (thats what it is now) et me know.

Whats the mileage? Sounds like it has a salvage title and is a rebuild or a theft. For 10,500 I wouldn't buy it unless it had really low miles and the motor and trans are good.

I would definately try to find out more!

The paper that was in the window said it had over 100k, I'm not even going to consider buying it now unless the price is right. From what I have told you could you give me the max one should pay for a ty like this.

Yea for $10,000 you can find a really nice Typhoon. I wouldn't mess around with something like that unless you are planning on spending a lot more money in the future, and THEN finding out it's not really a Typhoon =/

I figure if I just save up all summer, I will have a few grand and then my dad wouldn't mind helping me get a really nice one. I think I will continue my research until then. I'll probably be happier in the long run.

Did it have anything else on it by chance?? BOV? Look at the driver's side door also and see if you see a faint bend in the metal like there was a repair done? Tinting on the drivers side and not the passengers side?

Reason being is that my Ty was stolen, I recently had the front windshield replaced, my front bumper didn't lne up, and that Ty doesn't have a VIN.

I know it's a stretch, but being that it was stolen in AZ, Texas isn't too far away........

If you can, please check those things if you have a chance.

Thanks

Some other marks that might be obvious.... (may not be on there anymore)

Indiglo guages
Pillar pod gauges
Shurflo pump (you can hear it, but it was mounted under the battery tray)
No rain deflectors
Screw holes on the right side of the instrument cluster (some jerkoff had a CB or something there before I owned it)
New custom propshaft
HKS SSQ BOV w/metal turbo-IC pipe
Front bumper looked like it was bent.....which caused it to be rippled a little in the center and didn't line up perfectly.
No tinting on the driver's side window
Not natural looking Typhoon stickers on the doors
Polished rims
H4 headlight conversion w/purple tinted bulbs
Cold air intake (crossover tube was broken)

That's all I can think of right now.

I went and looked at it today.

The propshaft is stock
there are no holes in the dash
there is a little alarm light that is above the rear windshield wiper switch
there was nobody there so didn't get to look under hood (I was very tempted to open it myself but didn't)
the front grill is very loose and can be moved easily.

I did get the phone # off the sign if you would like to call him. It is (903)-753-8700.

Oh ya, it has pioneer dash speakers

If you still think this maybe yours I have no problem going back over there and trying to talk to the guy, I kind of like looking at it anyway.

Let me know if I can help you.

Yeah, that sounds like it's not my truck. But still sounds fishy having no VIN. But as I said earlier, perhaps it's someone else's that had been stolen....... Not much of any other reasons to remove a VIN from a vehicle........

Anyhow, thanks for checking that out, I appreciate it.

I don't know the date that it was put out on this lot, but the first time I saw it was on Feb. 23, 2003. I am sure of this becuase I posted about it on gm-trucks.com. Didn't get many replys since only a few had even heard of them.

Just thought I would tell you when I saw it so if yours was stollen after this date we can be sure this is not yours.
