Once you figure things out it looks easy. LOL

Keep in mind a stock bin or code58 tune will have some connection issues. Using tunerpro you will need to hit silence ecm command over and over until it connects without packet error counts.

If you go to code59 that goes away. :)

Code59 site has 59 files and 58 files (they are in a thread) just gotta be registered to see it all.

....okay maybe it's not coming into view. I still have the question as to what files (.xdf & .ads) should I be loading if I'm using code $59?

Re: Tuner Pro Rt.........no data

  • Step 1: Open a new window and go to www.code59.org
  • Step 2: sign on (i don't know your user name and password, hopefully you do or you will need to register on the site)
  • Step 3: at the top is a section called "DOWNLOADS"
  • Step 4: Click on tunerpro definition files
  • Step 5: download the first file there which is the most current XDF, and the 2nd file which is the most current ADS.
  • Step 6: extract those into the same folder on your computer. (must be in same folder to prevent mismatch xdf/ads error).
  • Step 7: Open tunerpro
  • Step 8: Drag each of those files 1 at a time onto tunerpro to open them (or you can do open for XDF, ADS in the right screens if you know where those are).
I assume you have a bin loaded and running, if not you will need to download a bin file from code59 that matches your truck closest and upload that bin to your ostich.

If you did this all correct, the port is setup for ALDL, key on it should connect without any issues.

Re: Tuner Pro Rt.........no data

seeing that you do have an ostrich emulator and tunerpro rt installed , code 59 will offer you more up to date features , compared to the stock $58 code . I didnt see whether or not you have a wide band 02 sensor , but that is my next suggestion if you do not .

plus everything is on the site for easy downloading , how to , and beginners guides .

.....boy you guys are GREAT for the mentally challenged. I think I'm going to leave work early (in about an hour) to carry out those directions. Just for the record; I do not have a wide-band O2 sensor, although I recognize the need for it and will be investing in two (because I guess owning one of these trucks wasn't good enough for me...I had to go out and buy two) in the near future (unless someone has one for sale). Really; thanks again guys.........

dont forget you need a 3 bar map for both trucks if you go code 59 . i see it only on the 92 mods list .

okay I did everything from 1-8. In addition; I downloaded a few of the bins close to my build for a V6. Put those bins into tunerpro (the bin file). Opened the bin and uploaded it.................no change. Car is running at about 1500 rpms. Still can't figure out why I can't log and emulate at the same time.

The car will run at about 1500rpm's for about 2 minutes, after the battery has been disconnected, or power to the ECM interrupted, before it settles into it's normal cold start high idle...

Can you hook up and see data? What does desired idle say, IAC say?

Re: Tuner Pro Rt.........no data

I moved all of these files to the code59.org site in the code58 section. If you go in to the fourm on code59.org you will see a section labled code58. That is where the ads and xdf files are. Look there and all the files you need will be there. Here is the link to the forum where the files are located.

http://www.code59.org/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=69&func=showcat&catid=18

The XDF will let you edit a bin. You need to have the correct XDF to edit a bin. $6e is form a completely differnet code mask so the tables and such are located in completely different places.

The ADS file lets you read the ALDL stream. Without and ADS file loaded, it will not know what the data in the datastream is. Every code mask has a differnet ALDL definition so you need the correct one for $58 or $59.

....interrupted the power to the ECM by unplugging the fuses. Still idles at 1300 - 1500 rpms.

Sorry, what I meant was that it needs to idle, at the elevated RPM, for longer than 2 minutes before it will settle down.

...at this point; I cannot hook up or see data!

Your next step is to get data, without that it makes it hard for us to guess what the issue is.

Check engine light on or off?

Re: Tuner Pro Rt.........no data

...now that I think about it; I couldn't data log before as long as I had the ostrich hook up. I always had to put the entire memcal back in place in order for me to data log

Re: Tuner Pro Rt.........no data

Your not uploading bin correct, ostrich is bad, ribbon cable is hooked up backwards.

I would not RUN the truck until you can get data, easy way to check is to turn on key and try to connect. Open the dash, show the TPS and if you move pedal and it moves from 0-100 your connected.

Might try new batteries in ostrich also as a check.

....this thing is supposed to be brand new from Moates and I assume it came with a new battery. I also turned the key and tried to connect. Opened the dash and set one of the window to TPS. Moved the gas pedal and............nothing! What I also get when I try to connect is a pop up indicating "Could not Initialize Port".
