Re: Syclone #1900 - Project Resurrection...++
Ok...been a while since my last update. We've actually gotten a lot done to the truck since I last posted even though you may not be able to tell. We tore it all the way down to the frame and cleaned it all up. We did the garage booth style paint job and it turned out ok. I would call it a knit picker paint job. Basically means that I can find all kinds of flaws in it....but the average person probably wouldn't give a shit. Basically....when it's out at night having a good time on the street.....it should look just fine. I honestly think it looks 100X better than it did when I started. Anyway....still getting everything together on the truck....but figured I'd do a little update on it. The wheels on it in these pics are the street driven 19x9.5's wearing 265/35-19's in the front and the 20x11's wearing 325/25-20's in the rear.
Here are some of the shots a few months after we painted it....and did a quick wash on it.
Also took a few shots of the motor sitting it the truck. Basically playing with the different intakes. I wasnt' really impressed with the way the spacers came out for the sheet metal intake...so I'm kind of thinking about welding them straight to the intake and blending the ports to match the heads better. Plus I just don't like dealing with separate spacers. As far as the Daytona Dash intake....it matches the heads perfectly. And in all reality....I believe it'll make more power over the sheet metal intake. Mike Lee had told me that the sheet metal will outflow the DD intake by a long shot....but after looking at the port sizes....I'm not sure I can swallow that theory. So I imagine that I'll try to make my top numbers with the DD intake....and then once I start going for more of the show/performance stuff....I'll put the sheet metal on. In the pics you'll see that we got the crank trigger mounted up and the belt driven fuel pump as well.
