I was there today too. It looked like the car hit the wall maybe 6-10 times and went all the way down into the sand trap at the end of the runoff area... From my perspective near the tree, it looked like he hit the wall at about a 45 degree angle, and the car sorta "bounced" against it all the...
Well, I finally got around to going in after the lifters. Only took me 2 hours or so to get down to where I could yank the intake manifold, too... I guess I'm starting to get good at this
The "bad" news is that there's nothing obviously wrong with any of them on the driver's side. I...
Ok, time for an update.
Yesterday I took my truck over to JBA Racing's shop. I ran into an aquaintance of mine over the weekend who manages the place, and told him about my situation. He told me to bring it on over and have his guys look at it.
They put it on the ignition scope, plugged in a...
Yah, that's how I remember it... IIRC, the timing cover is captured by the pan. Here's a pic of what mine looked like when I took it all apart:
Of course, it's pretty easy with the engine out of the truck... :-?

I'm thinking the same thing. The ECU should set an IAC code if it can't control the idle, right? If there's a vac leak, the ECU will "bottom out" the IAC count trying to slow it down, and when it can't, the code gets thrown...
Mine fit fine.
Then again, I was dropping an engine in, rather than trying to just replace the mounts, so YMMV. I would imagine the task to be an order of magnitude more difficult doing it without having the engine out.

I don't really see a future in the white box with a red X... :P
SRO = www.streetracing.org Lots of people from Sacramento on there...
I wish I could say that the incident sounds unfamiliar, but I've heard a dozen stories like it in the past couple of years. I actually went out and did an analysis of a recent fatal streetracing incident here in San Diego...
Well, keep in mind that the oxygen sensor is reading the exhaust from all 6 cylinders, so while on average you may have plenty of fuel, it's entirely possible for one hole to have a bad injector and run very lean while still having an acceptable O2 sensor reading. There's really no substitute...
Wanna see my timeslips? :P My wagon's an honest mid-14 second car in the quarter, with basically no mods. In the 1/8th, I can consistently beat all sorts of cars I shouldn't be able to. It's all about AWD and the ease of launching an automatic perfectly every time.
Sure, the 350 may be a...
