I have recently had 2 people contact me with issues regarding fit of mounts.

I have worked hard to make them work, and bolt in like a charm.

Out of probably 30 sets, and after some initial trial-error, I thought all the issues were solved.

If anybody that installed them, had trouble, had them fit like a glove, etc. Please email me, let me know.

I have come to a few conclusions,

1- GM didn't make 2 sytys the same.
2- I can't design $h!t and need to quite trying
3- Some people have issues with everything.

Let me know via email, your experience. Trying to track down if it is a per truck thing, or overall design flaw.

Mine was a little tight for the passenger side bolt to the motor mount itself. I put a 1/4" bolt in for one evening of easy driving....the motor settled in and I exchanged the 1/4" bolt for the right one.

Perfect fit after that!

Thanks for a great product!! Scott

Well I have not installed them yet so I can not give you feedback on that but I think I remember seeing in my JTR book for my S-10 that they make different V8 mounts for the 4wd blazer and s-10 because the blazers driveline angles are different because of the shorter wheelbase. I am not sure if this is the same with these trucks but I would think it could be possible. Just a thought.

Mine fit fine.

Then again, I was dropping an engine in, rather than trying to just replace the mounts, so YMMV. I would imagine the task to be an order of magnitude more difficult doing it without having the engine out.

I bought a set off you and you shipped them to McCoy's shop. where my truck is, so he could install them w/ the motor. Well, they're in and he never said a word about it. So I would have to say they fit. Thanks Jeff!

i would say your choice #1 is the cause. I installed some of your mounts on a customer ty and it was the biggest pain in the ass ever. I had to drop the front diff to get to the back nuts, then the diff wouldnt go back in straight. The bushing started to bind. To make a long story short i had to pull apart the entire front end. Didn't really have anything to do with your mount in particular, it was just the frame pads themselves. When i did my solid motor mounts on my typhoon(esentially the same thing) it went in and out like a piece of cake.

Does this mean I caused another problem to happen even though I still haven't placed my order yet... :( heh

BTW: I'm going back to a rubber suspension setup with new bushings for the control arms and leaf springs; polyurethane was too stiff and I'm affraid of what will occur w/ polyurethane mounts... SO, expect a check from me to appear in 2 weeks... what's that address of yours again scotty? :p

Jordan and I had the same problem as Windedv6, but we waited a day.... then we got him on top of the intake, jumping up and down until it finally cooperated.

We also had the same problem as Mike, getting to the back side was a big PITA. I had to drop the front diff down, but didn't disconnect the axles. The right combo of 18mm wrenches and there do-able.

Overall, they look and feel great, just not one of those want to do agains.
I'm hoping the heat shields do their job, and the poly's don't melt under the ATR header heat.

Well, you can send me a set and I'll do my best to install them and give you some feedback.

Mostly I just need em... :)

Getting the second through-bolt in was a little tight (had to tap it with a hammer). Other than that, my install went as expected (meaning it sucked, but the parts fit fine).

When installing mine they went in fine. Lining up the bolts and getting sockets on was the pain. I don't think it would be any simpler if it were a different design. I feel reason #3 is my conclusion. Yes it's hard to do, get over it, it's not Jeff's fault GM mad it hard for you. If you putting motor mounts in in the first place you should know by know our trucks are hard to work on in some situations, mounts, sometimes plugs, etc. Thanks Jeff for a awesome working product.

Is your website down Jeff? I was looking for the part number for the poly mount that I was told was on there. I'll be installing a set I'm getting from E...(that I will have to replace btw) in March...sorry I'm not doing it sooner but when I do install them I'll be taking photos step by step.

What problems were you having specifically with the poly control arm bushings?

Not much of a problem as it is too harsh of a ride... Considering that Alaskan roads are not the smoothest pieces of asphalt around; you could say that the ride is just a little too rough for most of the city streets that have potholes, dips, ruts from motorists and their winter studs...

Basically I havd a small vibration as it is.. and being that poly stiffens things up.. this means that most small vibrations either driveline, road related transfer along the frame... Add poly mounts to this... and I'm betting it will be much worse... Asside from the obvious harsher ride when you switch out poly in the control arms and leaf springs.. supposedly the life of your steering parts & shocks are reduced by 1/3.. So I'm going to switch the control arms & leaf springs back to rubber... leaf the front sway bar poly.. and switch out the motor mounts to poly...

This should reduce the harshness of the ride while fixing the torque problem that wears out the rubber engine mounts

Jeff,

Like my last post- your mounts were excellent. It was the ENS pad welds that screwed me. Other than that:
1) motor was out when I put them
2) front diff was dropped
Very easy to bolt to the frame, no adjustments needed on passenger side mount. Sometimes there are a few flaws when you mass produce (Energy Suspension).
