Re: front diff leaking....now with pic!!!!! The red sealant is used between the case halves. The cover on the driver's side uses RTV sealant. When you put the cover back on you need to line up the cover so that the seal is centered with the bearing. This can be done by installing the axle...

Re: Front drive axle P/N Q's I'm a little new to the SyTy, but I have a lot of experience with the 4X4 S10 and S15 GM trucks. That should be the same shaft that is used in all of the S series GM 4X4 and all wheel drive trucks. Did the SyTy use something different?

Re: Front drive axle P/N Q's Are you talking about the half shafts with the CV joints, or the stub shafts that go into the differential? Don't they use the same parts as the Bravada and AWD Astro van?

Has anyone tried a Lock Right locker kit in the front differential? I was told by a parts dealer that it might cause the case to bust. I woulld like to hear from people who have tried it.

Re: Question on swaping drivetrains.... You will need to lock the right front axle. The 4X4 disconnects the right axle to allow the differential to spin freely to reduce drag on the drive train. I don't remember if the Bravada has a solid right axle or not, but you might be able to use it in...

Re: front diff/transfer case? You can get a Lock Right locker kit for it. That will apply power equally to both front tires and eliminate the weaker differential gears. It might be a nuisance on the street with all wheel drive. It isn't too bad in the 4X4 because you can disengage the transfer...

What are the dimensions for the universal joint on the pinion yoke in a '91 Syclone? Total width and diameter of the caps?
