Roberts Sy in Magazine (big images)

First of all, awesome truck, great pictures, and I can't believe it still has AC. Any possibility of getting a translation on the text? :D

I want opinions on a V8 Twin Turbo swap in the Sy

My vote is for the V6. I was sorta in the same boat when my stock Sy's motor ate itself. My mechanic buddies kept talking turbo v8, easier to build, lighter on the wallet in the long run, but to me a Sy will always have a turbo 6 banger. As for your hp needs, I know i'm shooting for 600ish...

MAY NASTE Meet: Jimmy V's House, Milford, CT, BBQ -Sat. 22nd

Ok, I'm in 100%. It will be me +1 guest. What types of food do you folks like? I'll bring beer, dessert, buffalo chicken? What else...

Discouraged owner, should i sell SY?

All I can say is welcome to the club. Owned my Sy since 98, when I was way too young to be buying one of these things. Never did my own oil changes before and was constantly paying a "all talk, no walk" mechanic to fix problems for 2 years. Dropped about 3 grand chasing an IAC and ignition...

blazing orange ty - and color request thread. :-)

The more I look at the Creamsicle Ty, the more I like it. I look, then look away, and yup I still like it.

looks about ready for atco tuesday coming

I'll chime in with a "me too me too". I've been following your build up pretty closely and have been taking notes on what you've used and what you're shooting for. C'mon let us know, because I'd be excited about low 11's

    SyTy Book

Well you never know, sometimes designers have "proud moments" they love to talk about, hopefully the Sy Ty's are proud moments. If you get this off the ground I know a few small publishing companies that I work with that can put together your final product.

MAY NASTE Meet: Jimmy V's House, Milford, CT, BBQ -Sat. 22nd

Nice a NASTE meet that is finally a little closer to home. The Sy won't be there unless I haul it but I should have something fun to tool around in. Count me in. Nate

    SyTy Book

I would be interested if it covered some of the historical aspects of these trucks development. When were the ideas first hatched? Were there other options they decided not to go with? Interviews with the designers, marketers ect would be awesome too. The problem with getting this type of...

Thanks to Jim at OE Concepts

When you get a chance could you post some pictures on the wheels on the truck. Love that black and silver lip look, very cool wheels.

    Engines

Damn Waller, 650 for 6k... hmmm, sounds pretty good. What if I supply a certain brand of pistons and rods? Pretty good prices alll around syty land.. just gotta know where to look.

Just some thoughts on selling the sy...

Don't part it out. It's a shame to see one of these things pulled apart when all it needs is a little (or alot of) TLC. What is your asking price for the whole thing, with the parts? I have someone in mind who needs a project to tackle. Nate

What happened to my dog house PEP thread?

People are still modding Sys and Tys right? I was considering PEP equipment until I read about how they handled the situation. I wouldn't want newbies to get caught up with them so I think the thread should stay (be brought back to life). It was informative and kept people informed about an...

Comments/Suggestions On My Motor Build Up

I don't want to hijack the thread but this is in the same area of questioning... If I were to use my rebuilt stock heads, that were already ported/polished and only have about 400 miles on them just to get my truck back out this summer, how much would I need to change to go to Vortecs this fall...

Got the block splayed with 4 bolt, 30 over, and line bored.

What did your block prep cost, and also what does a sonic check run for? Getting ready to get dirty as soon as the warm weather sticks around.

    propane injection

I was doing some investigation on propane right before my truck ate its motor. I believe there was somone who bought a kit for their Ty awhile back, wondering if it ever got bolted on?

Comments/Suggestions On My Motor Build Up

I am also getting into the build process now that the warmer weather is here. What does the build you listed end up costing? I'm torn between reusing my freshly rebuilt stock heads or upgrading to vortecs. Thanks

    New 2004 Turbocharged Typhoon...

Plenty of better cars in AU. Moving there in January for at least 2 years. When I was there in Nov I priced a few Skylines and Silvias, and GT-R's can be found for about $25k AU, or around $18k US... not bad. I'll be keeping the Sy, but it is very unlikely ill ship it over with me. Nate
