C4 Corvette rear suspension and mixed matched gear ratios

Re: C4 Corvette rear suspension and mixed matched gear ratios @ Randy Merritt It's actually going into a 67 Nova not a syty. I'm using a syty Transfer case and figured someone on here might know more about that case than I do. If you want to see pics, I can post them but I think people want to...

Hello, I'm looking at installing a c4 corvette rear suspension. The corvette rear is a 3.54 gear and my front diff is a 3.42 gear. Someone here mentioned you might have some experience running mixed matched gears. Any advice? I can get my tire speed difference down to .1 mph using mix matched...

C4 Corvette rear suspension and mixed matched gear ratios

Re: C4 Corvette rear suspension and mixed matched gear ratios I've played around with tire sizes. By mix matching the tires I can get the tire speeds almost the same. 0.1 mile per hour difference.

C4 Corvette rear suspension and mixed matched gear ratios

Hello, I'm planning to install a C4 Corvette rear suspension. My front gear ratio is 3.42. The closest gear ratio that fits the Corvette differential is 3.45. Does anyone here know if this will destroy my Transfer case?

    LSx oil pan

Re: LSx oil pan I think the combo of this type of easy to DIY fabricate upper mount and this rubber lower mount would work with this oil pan. For those that don't want to go to solid mounts. Haven't tried them yet but I plan on running this set up...

rack and pinion set-up for sy/ty

Re: rack and pinion set-up for sy/ty It looks like you are using a part to make an almost 90 degree turn between the steering shaft and the Rack. What is that part?

    Rack and Pinion Steering?

Re: Rack and Pinion Steering? Update to my last post. Flaming River makes a Uijoint that fits the larger shafts used on the explorer racks

    Rack and Pinion Steering?

Re: Rack and Pinion Steering? As far as I can tell the difference between the Mustang racks and the Explorer racks is that the mouniting bosses on the explorer rack are closer together and more near the center. The mustang rack's mounting bosses are near the ends of the rack. It also seems that...

Re: Narrower Track I dont have anything like that. I live in southern Oregon. Maybe you could give me the name and number to your wheel shop?

    Narrower Track

Re: Narrower Track Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like I need a 16x8 with an offset right around +70mm. That should bring me in a little more than an inch on either side. Anyone know the cheapest source for a custom wheel?

    Narrower Track

Re: Narrower Track Norm, What steel wheels are you taliking about? How would you go about changing the offset? DaveP I didnt really understand what you meant by " 10 per mile front/rear." What is the 10 refering to. I'm not using the syty rear just the front half of the chassis. My Nova rear...

    Narrower Track

Re: Narrower Track I'm seriously considering the custom A-arm route. It will be more expensive but after I do that I will have a lot wheel choices available. I dont think custom wheels would be cheap anyway. I just started thinking about the clearance though. After I narrow the front are my...

Re: Narrower Track The car has to look stock. rolling the front fenders on a 67 Nova would look awful.

    Narrower Track

Re: Narrower Track Oh. I see. yeah I have a ton of options for the back. Its the front that I'm having trouble with. I need to bring it in about 1 to 1 and a half inches on either side for a total of 2-3" I guess I'm left to custom A-arms and front shafts.
