Made a lot of progress this weekend w/ the help of sy381...who, even though he owns a syclone, is a decent guy. At this rate i'll have this thing back together, painted, and for sale before 2012! Unless someone would want to buy a primer typhoon so they can paint it the color they desire. I still have the option to paint this thing pink.

here's my jesus shot...since people have been calling me that lately

the freshly shaved roof rack. Boy od i hate how Typhoons look w/ a roof rack on it. The only thing worse than a Typhoon w/ a roof rack, is a Syclone

The truck is a tad hard to drive right now...it's weird. Dunno what happened.

well i'm tired...time to go rest up and be lazy. I'm not used to having to do work.

Why aren't you primering/painting under the door cladding? Looks good so far
it fought me too fiercly to remove...and i would have ended up breaking the it to get it off, so i opted to leave it on. Stupid metal rivets

How much to buy?

Thanks
not totally sure. I was thinking of listing it for about $8500 after its painted/finished up. I'd consider coughing it up for $7700 as is.

Are you keeping it black? Did you have to take care of any rust issues?

haven't seen any rust issues aside from a little fleck on the rear body seam. There is some minor rust on the underside of the door...partially why the cladding rivets weren't cooperating. Its a pretty clean truck though. I haven't had it on a lift to thoroughly inspect it...but my guess is that its not too bad underneath either.

no f'in way. I've quickly learned that doing this shit completely sucks. But i'm still too cheap to spend even $2k on a paint job

Re: #0593, the revival

Continuing the revival (new chapter) of this gem 4 years later and after sitting behind kings house for a long time!

Decided this morning to start tearing her apart to make her nice again.
The plan is too leave it mostly stock with some reliability upgrades.

Engine----
Tore into some of the motor...I noticed that it wasn't idling right (thought it might have been the 4 year old full tank of gas in it) so i changed the fuel filter emptied the tank and put a afpr on it. Installed a gauge on the fuel rail and was only getting 28 psi...SOB..played with the afpr for a little while and came to a conclusion the pump is dying. So i ordered a new pump and sending unit (should be in on thursday). The turbo has no play in it but is on a manual boost controller...ripped that out and installed the factory silinoid back in. The air conditioning box has cracks in it and the lines have been cut, so i have a spare mint one im going to put in so i can keep the stock look and have ac:D . There is some real nice aluminum unique renz brackets in this thing too! :D
I have a mint air intake and box for her allready and some bits and pieces its missing to make stock again. Compression checked on all cylinders and came out nice! Tunerpro didnt show any knock on the motor and the oil looks really good. Trans fluid looked new too. (of course im changing the oil and trans fluid). Plugs wires cap etc is on the list to do.

Interior---
Took out all the stuff from inside the ty...misc cladding and interior pieces. Cleaned and vacuumed her out. Put the interior back together including the spare tire back in (in wich i found the cotton gloves that came with it originally, i thought it was a cool find). I cut out a patch piece out of one of my parts ty's to cover the hole from the old 5 speed. Gonna weld it in this weekend and install a like new center consul. Still need to remove the clutch peddle still but thats not a big deal.

Body---
Removed the rest of the cladding off the truck and noticed a really rusty fender and the bottom of the doors dont look so good. Gonna have to put some new doors on her and fender. Ordered a new cowl hood for it today also.
The bondo is cracking on the roof so im gonna have to grind it out and redo it all, but besides that its a pretty straight ty.
Window dude is coming next week to take the windows out for paint.

Tires and wheels---
I have a mint set of stockers in the barn, gonna throw some new kuhmo tires on them and slap them babys on the ty after paint.

Im shooting to have this truck running good by the end of this weekend and hopefully start bodywork next week and maybe paint her the following weekend.

Trying to maybe have this guy done by shindig

Im deff keeping the truck black, so i dont have to paint the jams and firewall. But what color should i go with the cladding?....gotta be something unique..:D
