Re: 1969 Chevrolet C10 2wd long bed
http://cleveland.craigslist.org/cto/1747138918.html sorry, here's the link, i have more pics in my phone that i can send or email, i really these trucks are a lot easier to restore and customize than ya think.... there are lots of places that offer everything for these trucks except the title, i was gonna go through classic industries for all of the parts. their catalogs are free, and they even have a disc they will send for free with their complete GM parts catalog, most of the parts on this truck are weld or rivet, so replacement of parts are a breeze, there's no welding needed unless you wanna go custom. the frame is solid and not rotted or damaged, has been wire brushed down and painted (from cab on back to bumper). the front portion hasn't been brushed or painted but is still clean, all of the suspension components are OE and not custom, I really dont wanna get rid of the truck but at this point i am way more excited about the swap in my sy than workin on the c10,I was gonna use the c10 to pull the sy around to far locations (car shows and such). the truck is the real deal tho, 12 bolt rear, inline 6 (strong torque in low to mid rpm!) and solid, good floors, glass, frame, tranny, engine, etc. these trucks are becoming very popular as im sure lots of you have seen on tv,car shows, and in your home towns but finding a clean one, that doesn't need surgery before you start to modify it is the hard part. I have a 2 car garage and a small drive way, im at max capacity as far as vehicles go... Im selling to avoid storage costs and fees for storing it, if i still have it in the next few months im gonna keep it, should be done with the sy by then hopefully, its just a pain to keep moving it in and out of the garage whenever i wanna work on the sy.
the aftermarket for the 67-72 c10 is very VERY strong! i was gonna keep it mild with a restoration,5.3 vortec swap, and a air bag suspension, not trying to lay it on the ground with air bags but still be able to pull the sy and cruise it when not in use....
for those who know about these trucks and how easy it is to work on them and customize them, you know this is a good deal... if you want a factory replacement grille for the 69-70 its gonna cost you roughly $900 just for the grill!
for those of you not hip to these trucks, just look up some vids on youtube and see the diesel swaps, air bags, restorations, and pretty much how the sky is the limit with these, the short bed version of these trucks are worth more $, but i was gonna use the truck, so the long bed seemed to suit my needs better than the short bed, it's not hard work to shorten the frame to make it a short bed, lots of guys take the 90's Stepside bed and put it on these trucks because of how well it flows with the body lines, the bed is all bolted together individually (floor, sides, tailgate, front),no welding required, just elbow grease.
if you can build an entertainment system or bed from ikea, you can restore these trucks,it's way easier than it sounds...
lol ok this is goin on way too long, gotta run, call or txt if you want more pics or video of it running (runs and drives good).
