Acceptable substitutions to the SY/TY valvebody

I'm putting together my new Hartman trans using the case from my blown up GM SRTA trans. Brian mentioned that my valvebody(surprise!) is not a sy/ty piece, but my last trans was my 3rd one so who knows when I lost the original. Since I'm going with the full manual transbrake I decided to use an air shifted B&M pro bandit shifter b/c of it's positive gear engagement(the stock shifter gates are way to soft to be manually shifted, for me anyway) and it's reverse lock out, plus it's one less thing to think about at the track.
Problem is some critical shifter parts are back ordered and after being apart for like 8 months, I don't want to wait for them once the trans is done, and would rather put a few miles on the trans w/a conventional auto. valve body to break it(and me) in anyway.
So my question is what's the closest replacement to the stock sy valve body? And would I be killing my trans' performance by using the one that came with my GM replacement trans?I figure after 500 miles or so I can swap in the trans brake and the shifter will be all set up, so I'll be ready to rock.
I'd also like to have an auto. body I could swap in later that'd be ok for to and from as well as some runs at the strip, w/o making my mega trans feel like sh*t.
So what do you guys think? Can my replacement vb be modified to not drag down my stage IV trans, or what? Any advice appreciated.

Re: Acceptable substitutions to the SY/TY valvebody

For a temporary solution, I would probably go for a Transgo shift on the valve body you have with a 3-4 WOT adapter. You could also go for a Corvette valve body with a transgo shift kit, but it would a little more expensive and you still might need to recalibrate the govenor (but their maybe other issues as I am just going on theory not experience)

use the VB that you have. it will work just fine. the only differance between it and a genuine syty is the spring rate of a few small springs. most of those you remove when you do a perf trans anywho. if you've got a brake coming from brian then jsy use the stocker you have until then....the gov controls 99% of the shifting.
