Ok I get 12v at the B+ of alternator with ignition on and get 12v at connector for pink wore and get negative on the brown or black wire at connector
Take a test light and see if it "lights" when you touch the B+ stud on the back of the Alternator. Truck doesn't need to be running for this test. If yes, then unplug the 2 wire connector and with the ign ON see if the test light "lights" when you touch the terminals.
And, while I understand the logic behind disconnecting the battery on a running car, this is old skool logic, and a VERY dangerous test. Doing this on any vehicle that runs an ECM runs the risk if a voltage spike that can easily fry circuits. An alternator is capable of producing well over 50 volts...
