I am thinking about going autocrossing on 11-17-2007 at the Hernando County airport, and thought I would post it up to see if any other SyTy'ers wanted to go. I am not 100% going, but it is a solid 90% chance right now.
The event is put on by "FAST", " WeDriveFast.com " and they have regular events at the Hernando Airport. I have never autocrossed before, nor do I know about what the track layout will be. I do know that I thought about going to this a long time ago, and because it takes place on an active air strip they MUST have a complete list of attendees prior to the event, and you cannot come and go as you please during the day. It seems that they must have permission to cross the strip and enter the track, so theyre not going to do this every ten minutes for people to come and go all day long. The track is roughly and hour north of Tampa, not too far from I-75.

Basically, it costs $30 and includes the "woorld famous FAST lunch"- I have no idea what that is. They do ask for an extra $5 for each guest to eat, which sounds reasonable. I did not see any other guest/spectator fee's. I would imagine you would need to bring a helmet. The rest of the rules seem pretty simple, and the class structure is simplistic as well, and can be seen on their website.
They only take 80 entries, so we might need to act soon. I dont know how many they usually have running.
